The print designs I create are versatile, appealing to various tastes. Each design is detailed, serving as both decoration and a thoughtful gesture. From festive patterns to minimalist styles, my collection fits every occasion. The goal is to let customers personalize their gifts, making them visually engaging and memorable for birthdays, holidays, and special milestones.
I first start with concept development, defining the brand identity. Then I consider the values, target audience, and mission of the business by gathering inspiration from competitors and related industries to determine what visual elements resonate with the intended message. I design using key elements like typography, color palettes, iconography, composition and scalability. Once the design is approved, I create a comprehensive brand style guide outlining the logo usage, color codes, typography specifications, and any other relevant guidelines. This will help maintain consistency across all brand materials. By following these steps, a well-thought-out logo can be developed, effectively representing the brand and resonating with its audience.
In 2010 I created a menu for a small business restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. We worked together for about a month before ordering 3,000 take-away menus. I begin designing by using the restaurant’s name clearly at the top, followed by the logo. Then I move onto the sections of the menu, making sure the design is consistent for a tidy look. Typography and color theme is important to match restaurant style. I make sure the spacing is ample for clear readability.
Infographics combine visual elements with textual information to present data and concepts in an engaging manner. They aim to simplify complex information, making it more accessible and memorable for audiences. The key elements that I focus on when designing an infographic are; visual hierarchy, color scheme, typography, data visualization, layout considerations, flow, alignment and having a clear message.
I created this website for the company I worked for at the time, Element Graphics & Design. This was a fun project that allowed me to use some animation. Most of the coding was built into the template but I also had to opportunity to add in some extra coding to customize the pages.
The owner of the company above also ran another business called MagStrapz. I built another website for him that sold his patted product around the world.
These display designs are part of my freelance work. For three years now I have worked with a marketing company that has an account with this convention. The marketing company hires me for the design portion and then they take over by printing and installing. It’s a challenge to create an experience that effectively communicates your brand’s message, but the best part is seeing your designs come to life!
Effective package design serves several essential purposes: to protect the product, to inform consumers, and to attract attention on retail shelves. Successful package design is a harmonious union of protection, communication, aesthetics, branding, functionality, and compliance. It serves as both a shield for the product and a window for consumer engagement, ultimately influencing purchasing decisions and brand perception.
